Series and festivals carry different editorial needs, visual identities, event volumes, schedules, and ticketing models. The experience needed to hold that variety without turning every new initiative into a one-off build.

Overview
A reusable audience platform for Lincoln Center’s evolving programming portfolio.
Lincoln Center Series Platform is a shipped system for creating distinctive, audience-facing destinations around seasons, festivals, subseries, and institutional initiatives.
Where the Global Calendar supports discovery across the campus and the homepage serves as Lincoln Center’s institutional front door, the Series Platform gives an individual body of programming room to establish its own story, visual identity, and paths to attendance.
My role
Experience Designer and Build Lead
I designed the audience experience and managed the build in close collaboration with Marketing, Brand, Programming, Engineering, and institutional partners.

Challenge
One platform had to support many kinds of programming.
Designing a reusable series platform
The system separates durable structure from seasonal expression.
Reusable page patterns support editorial introductions, event inventories, calendars, visitor information, membership, and calls to action, while flexible visual treatments allow each season or initiative to retain its own identity.

Connecting programming to discovery
Storytelling and event discovery work as one journey.
The platform creates a clear path from the meaning of a series to the specific performances within it, helping audiences understand both the larger idea and what they can attend.

Supporting complex event information
Event cards carry the details audiences need to decide.
The design accommodates meaningful event metadata, changing availability, different ticketing models, and multiple ways of exploring a program without losing the larger editorial narrative.

Mobile
The experience remains legible when the program becomes a scroll.
Responsive patterns preserve hierarchy, wayfinding, event information, and calls to action on smaller screens, where a long season or festival can otherwise become difficult to navigate.
Seasons and brands
A shared framework can still make room for difference.
The platform is designed to carry changing seasonal identities and branded initiatives without sacrificing familiar interaction patterns or structural consistency.

Design through build
The design role continued through delivery.
I managed the build as an extension of the design process, working across disciplines to preserve intent, resolve responsive behavior, and keep the reusable system coherent as real content entered the experience.

Accessibility and performance
The platform’s polish depends on fundamentals.
Clear hierarchy, semantic structure, readable contrast, responsive behavior, and responsible media treatment were considered as part of the system—not as finishing touches.
Current outcome
A shipped destination that can serve more than one season.
The live Lincoln Center Presents experience demonstrates the platform in active use. Its value is not a single page, but a reusable foundation for presenting a changing portfolio of programming with clarity and character.
Reflection
The strongest reusable systems do not erase identity.
They establish enough consistency to support audiences and teams, then create intentional space for each program’s own voice, imagery, and rhythm.
